Dedication for Dr. Cathy Galbraith (nee Milne)

Cathy GalbraithThis  donation has been made to the Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park (Aitken Arboretum) in memory of Cathy Galbraith.

Cathy was born and grew up in Perth. As a young girl she spent many happy hours with her brothers and friends playing on Kinnoull Hill, and it remained, always, one of her favourite places.

When married, Cathy moved first to England, and then emigrated to Australia with her family. On visits "home" she always enjoyed re-visiting Kinnoull Hill and its woodlands for long walks.

Cathy, always lively, spirited, warm and generous in life, died in Melbourne, Australia in September 2009. She was fifty-six.

Cathy's early visits to Kinnoull Hill, and the freedom enjoyed there, nurtured in her a life-long love of nature and outdoor spaces: and an appreciation of the importance of both in all our lives.path through woods

It is an appropriate legacy, therefore, very much in keeping with Cathy's generosity of spirit and belief in the restorative powers of our natural world, that this donation be made to support the regeneration and growth of this vital community resource in her native Perth. In this way, the Kinnoull Hill woodlands may continue to flourish for others to derive pleasure and inspiration from, just as Cathy did, for generations to come.

With love from her family.
