Do you have an interest in Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park?
Would you like to learn more about the management of the Park?
Do you feel that you could contribute your ideas, time or support to the future of the Park?
The Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park Users Group was established in 2001. The Group represents a wide range of users of the Park, from horse riders to orienteering groups, to walkers and cyclists.
The Group works with both the Council Ranger Service and the Forestry Commission to further the aims of the Park and ensure that appropriate management is undertaken.
Tree planting in the Arboretum
A small committee meets every month to allow the various partners to discuss management of the Park. Four meetings a year, to which all members are invited, include a talk of local interest. Members are kept up to date with regular mailings and the Group holds an AGM every year.
The Group gets involved in many projects, such as conducting Core Path Planning in the Park; the siting of benches; and also the re-establishment of an arboretum.
As well as the many projects in which the Group is involved there are lots of opportunities for members to lend a hand on the hill.
Bench at Barnhill viewpoint
The Group organises and runs a popular Kinnoull Hill Open Day event each year. This event invites members of the public to enjoy a great day out whilst learning a bit about the past, present and future management of the Park.
The Group carries out practical volunteer tasks on the hill in conjunction with the Countryside Ranger Service. Tasks includes scrub clearance, tree planting and footpath repairs.
